November 1996: I loved this. I was on the cover of a national magazine… and nobody was going to recognise me from it, and thus I was not going to be embarrassed.
Also, it was in itself significantly less embarrassing than the other cover shots they did of me, topless, in angel wings, which they did not use.
Having said that, do not, if you are a photographer, use builder’s sand on a model’s face. It has stuff in it you don’t want on your skin for half an hour. Trust me on this.

Jill Thompson found some very old photos of me, which she presented me with this morning. This one is from 1995, or perhaps a little earlier.
I scanned them to send to Amanda in Australia to cheer her up after her mini bike-accident today.
I thought I’d post this one, as the most amusing of the lot.
I am so brooding. Look I am so brooding. This is me being brooding. In case you were wondering I am brooding or something.

although i believe each and every one of you is also following neil’s tumblr … i just need this here.

It’s the Chinese Year of the Dragon, so I just drew a wobbly dragon for my Chinese friends. He’s based on a picture I saw of an ancient dragon who had three toes but was still Chinese… I don’t know if anyone’s going to be able to see this photo posted here, in China. Last time I was there, this blog was cut off by the Great Firewall, but I post for it anyone who can: 恭喜发财
